Professional information
Francesco joined ARI, the Spanish Research and Innovation node of Atos in 2005 and currently he is a Project Manager/Coordinator of IT Research Initiatives.
He obtained a high degree in Electronic Engineering from the “Università Degli Studi Di Salerno” Salerno, Italy (2001). His research activities concern the study of distributed technologies (Grid and Cloud Computing) and SOA systems, pervasive technologies, and high performance middleware for distributed systems.
He is interested in the employment of these technologies in the business world. He is investigating the use of Commodity Technologies in order to implement Grid/Cloud Services and their integration with COTS components. His research activity on this topic started during his thesis period, which was funded by CRMPA (Research Centre in Pure and Applied Mathematics), with the thesis: “SIMULAZIONE IN (High Level Architecture) H.L.A. E POSSIBILE INTEGRAZIONE IN.NET”.
Some of the EU R&D projects in which he has participated in FP5 FP6 and FP7 related to GRID/SOA/Cloud technologies are: GRASP, AKOGRIMO, ELEGI, BeinGRID, SmartLM, Cloud4SOA, ModaClouds. Afterwards he has designed and implemented a .NET monolithic infrastructure (C#, ADO) for Eni ICT in Bologna (May to November 2005).
