Agile Bedrock is the “firm foundation” on which each team builds and rebuilds its own agility. The manual explores how the emergence of intelligent assistance changes the value-creation equation in knowledge-based organizations and, with it, the criteria professionals use to decide how to work.

It serves a dual purpose: it is a guide for teams and organizations that need to design their way of working in this new environment—whether or not they develop software, whether they use generative assistance or autonomous agents, and whether they need an iterative or continuous cadence—and, at the same time, it is the reference syllabus for validating up-to-date knowledge through Scrum Manager®’s core certification.

It does not prescribe a single framework: instead, it provides a body of knowledge and a set of criteria that enable each professional to develop their own synthesis. It is structured around Nonaka and Takeuchi’s knowledge spiral (thesis → antithesis → synthesis), where agility is the thesis, AI the antithesis, and the manual captures the emerging synthesis. It covers the foundations of empiricism, the functions within an agile team, cadence architectures (iterative, continuous, and dual-track), working practices, and criteria for context and decision-making, concluding with its principles and values.

It is intended for professionals who currently perform, or aspire to perform, a facilitation and continuous-improvement role in knowledge-work teams, both in software and non-software environments.
